Leg cramping and leg cramping while sleeping
Swelling in the lower legs or ankles
Visible bulging or twisted veins
Spider veins that worsen over time
Itching, burning, or skin changes near the veins
Symptoms that get worse after standing or sitting for long periodsWe have the solution for you…
Feel familiar? We recommend a vein evaluation to identify what treatment you may need.
Healthy veins play an important role in circulation and overall leg health. When veins are not working properly, they can lead to discomfort, swelling, heaviness, and visible changes that affect both how your legs feel and how you feel about them.
At Cardiovascular Specialists of South Florida, we offer medically guided vein care to identify the underlying cause of vein concerns and recommend appropriate treatment options. Our approach focuses on improving circulation, relieving symptoms, supporting long-term vein health, and addressing appearance when it matters to you.
Vein care designed to improve comfort, circulation, and confidence.
Vein Conditions We Treat
Varicose Veins
Enlarged, twisted veins that most often appear in the legs. They may cause discomfort, swelling, heaviness, or skin changes and can worsen over time if left untreated.
Spider Veins
Smaller, surface-level veins that appear red, blue, or purple in a web-like pattern. While often cosmetic, they can sometimes be associated with underlying vein issues.
CVI Venous Insufficiently
CVI occurs when vein valves do not function properly, allowing blood to pool in the legs instead of flowing efficiently back to the heart. Symptoms may include swelling, skin discoloration, tightness, itching, or venous ulcers in more advanced cases.
Our Approach to Vein Care
Vein care starts with understanding the cause, not just treating what’s visible.
Your evaluation may include:
A review of symptoms and medical history
A physical exam
Ultrasound imaging, when appropriate, to assess blood flow and vein valve function
This allows us to recommend treatment options that are medically appropriate and aligned with your overall cardiovascular health.
Vein Treatment Options
Treatment recommendations are personalized based on your diagnosis, symptoms, and goals. Because vein health is closely connected to circulation and cardiovascular wellness, care is always considered in the context of your broader health. Many procedures are minimally invasive and performed right in our office. Here are a few features options:
Sclerotherapy
A non-surgical treatment used to treat spider veins and some varicose veins. A targeted solution is injected into the vein, causing it to close and gradually fade as the body absorbs it.
Varithena® Foam Therapy
A gentle, non-surgical treatment for larger varicose veins. A special medical foam is injected into the vein to close it, allowing blood to naturally flow through healthier veins. The procedure is done in the office with little downtime, and most patients return to normal activities quickly.
VeinGogh™ Ohmic Thermolysis
A precise treatment for fine spider veins that uses controlled energy to collapse small surface veins with minimal discomfort and little to no downtime.
Phlebectomy
A simple in-office procedure that removes larger varicose veins through tiny openings in the skin. It improves comfort and appearance with little downtime.
Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT)
A minimally invasive option for larger varicose veins. Laser energy is used to close the affected vein, allowing blood to reroute to healthier veins. Normal activities are typically resumed quickly, with compression stockings recommended during recovery.
Lifestyle guidance and compression therapy may also be part of a comprehensive care plan.
