1. Our Commitment
Cardiovascular Specialists of South Florida is committed to making southflcardio.com accessible to all visitors, including individuals with disabilities. We recognize that many of the patients we serve — including those managing cardiovascular conditions, vein disease, and age-related health needs — may rely on assistive technologies or have specific accessibility requirements. Meeting those needs is part of our commitment to patient-centered care.
2. Standards We Follow
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines cover accessibility for people with a wide range of disabilities including visual, hearing, motor, and cognitive impairments. We are also guided by the accessibility requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as it applies to healthcare provider websites.
3. Accessibility Features of This Site
This Site is built on the Squarespace platform, which incorporates a number of built-in accessibility features. The following are supported on this Site:
A "Skip to Content" link at the top of each page allows keyboard and screen reader users to bypass navigation and go directly to the main content
Consistent navigation structure and logical heading hierarchy across all pages
Keyboard-accessible navigation menus
Text that scales using standard browser zoom controls without loss of content or functionality
Attention to color contrast between text and background elements
Descriptive alternative text on images to convey meaning to users who cannot see them
Fully responsive design across devices, screen sizes, and orientations
Content written in plain language with medical terminology explained in accessible terms
4. Known Limitations
While we strive to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards, some limitations exist that are outside our direct control. This Site links to two independent third-party platforms — ZocDoc for appointment scheduling and eClinicalWorks for patient portal and bill payment access. These platforms operate independently and we cannot guarantee their accessibility compliance. If you experience difficulty using either platform, please contact us directly and we will assist you by phone or in person.
This Site is also hosted on Squarespace, a third-party platform. While Squarespace works toward WCAG compliance in its templates, we cannot independently guarantee full conformance across all Squarespace functionality. We take all reasonable steps to maximize accessibility within the constraints of the platform.
5. Alternative Access
If you are having difficulty using this Site due to a disability or accessibility barrier, we are happy to help. The same information and services available on this Site can be accessed through the following alternatives:
Information about our cardiac care, vein treatments, and weight loss services — by phone
Appointment scheduling — by phone, as an alternative to ZocDoc
Bill payment assistance — by phone, as an alternative to the online portal
Printed or large-print materials — available at either office location upon request
In-person assistance — at our Davie or Hollywood offices
6. In-Office Accessibility
Our commitment to accessibility extends to our physical offices. Both the Davie and Hollywood locations are designed to accommodate patients with disabilities. If you have specific accessibility needs when visiting — including parking, mobility assistance, or communication accommodations — please let us know when scheduling your appointment so we can make appropriate arrangements.
7. Ongoing Commitment
We review this Site periodically for accessibility barriers and make improvements as we identify them. We evaluate accessibility impacts when updating or adding content, and we work with Squarespace to take advantage of accessibility improvements as they become available. This Accessibility Statement will be updated to reflect our current status and efforts.
8. Updates to This Statement
We may update this Accessibility Statement at any time. When we do, the "Last Updated" date above will be revised. We encourage you to review this Statement periodically.
9. Contact
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, need help accessing any content or service, or would like to request an accommodation, please contact us. We aim to respond to all accessibility requests within 2 business days.
